AUTOPROJECT- Zoya Lucewicz (Bielarus)
There is an old and banal phrase "If things could speak". But not each thing can say a lot. Not each of them can and wants. With things is similar to people: the richer and more unusual life the more interesting and unusual story.
Car windows - they are such things which could see a lot. There are printed and never-ending ways, landscapes, lines of rain drops, lines of human life. And how many thoughts came through drivers and passengers minds during long voyages; how many memories and dreams.
Car windows like any other things can not speak. but if soul and hand of artist - wizard make contact with them, voyages, dreams they will wake up inside them.using prints printer recreates invisible marks of life on window surface.
Travelling through our life we bring memories and material certificates of our being.
Life voyage of Zoya Lucewicz, into internal women world, also finds its material certificate - in painting installation on car windows.
We can find here a lot. Also about ourselves.
Material culture is very reach. It includes art and kitsch, east and west - the same as on the road - start and finish. Sometimes there are crossroads like in our life, we must stop and think - where to, which way?
These artworks occur here, also because Belarus is a typical transit country - passable in the middle of Europe. Not far away from Minsk there is the biggest market - scrap of second-hand cars from all Europe. This is not an accident. Subject connected with cars is not indifferent for Belarusian. During the period of Soviet Union, car was a symbol of dreams, liberty, now it becomes a symbol of independence and individuality and also life necessity. Never-ending path and continuously travel looking for "goods" to trade, outside the city to summer home, to family living in the village, somewhere - the further away from ourselves the better. Home is still away.
Zoya Lucewicz also takes part in different voyages, in real ones and "live" - inertial ones. Harmony and conflict, delight and suffering, man world and women world... . Her artworks reflect different states and worlds - like insects on car windows telling about their long way. Window pictures uncover for us human soul world and thoughts; some lives - once quite alien, once their own intimate - are transferred by paintbrush on our sights.
We all became participants of this AUTOPROJECT during the voyage in our life and in gallery.
Sometimes there is only one moment, one look in the mirror - view in the back window, jiffy, something - somewhere.
